Books, exercise, lavender oil: How Julie Anne San Jose gets ready for bed

Staying home and taking a break from live shows helped Julie Anne San Jose appreciate something she didn’t get to have for a very long time: A good night’s sleep.

During her morning chikahan with Suzi Entrata on GMA-7’s “Unang Hirit,” Asia’s Pop Diva revealed what she does to make sure she gets some quality Z’s.

The Kapuso singer-songwriter makes it a point to exercise every day and read books before bed. Julie also admitted to using lavender-scented liniment oil before turning in for the night.

“I love the smell of lavender scent. Pinapahid ko lang. Nakakatulong siya to have some quality sleep, dahil nga po sa relaxing lavender smell,” she said.

When asked why sleep was so important to her right now, Julie stressed that getting enough rest would help us stay healthy.

Quality sleep can also strengthen our immune system, which is important considering the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation in the country.

“Dati, sobrang dedma lang po talaga ako sa puyat, lagare sa dami ng commitments, pero dahil I’m not getting any younger, kailangan palagi tayong kumpleto sa tulog para syempre hindi tayo dapuan ng kahit anong sakit,” Julie said. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
